Selection for the post of Probationary Officer will be made through a three-stage process:

• Preliminary Examination (Pre Exam) — Objective test covering English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning Ability.
• Main Examination (Mains Exam) — Objective and descriptive test covering Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis & Interpretation, General/Economy/Banking Awareness, and English Language.
• Group Exercise (GE) & Interview — Shortlisted candidates from Mains are called for Group Exercise and Personal Interview.

Final merit is prepared on the basis of marks scored in the Main Examination and the Group Exercise & Interview, as per SBI's official selection policy.
